In March, fashion returns to the heart of the capital. Save the date: from March 12 to 15, Lisbon Fashion Week once again sets the runway at Pátio da Galé, showcasing the latest collections and trends from Portuguese and international designers. Designers, press, models and plenty of new fashion will take centre stage.
Schedules are tight, so it’s wise to plan your mobility around the city in advance with Guerin. And for good reason: Lisbon Fashion Week, also known as ModaLisboa, is one of Portugal’s largest fashion events. Beyond designers and models, it brings together specialized media, influencers and well-known public figures.
Following the rise of major fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, New York and London, Lisbon was next and quickly secured its own place on the global fashion map.
ModaLisboa: setting trends since 1991.
Lisbon Fashion Week was born in 1991. The ModaLisboa Association was the driving force behind its creation, from the very beginning in partnership with Lisbon City Council.
The goal was and remains clear: to promote and develop independent national fashion, giving visibility to both established and emerging designers, while helping the latter connect with other industry professionals, media, buyers and the public.
Over the years, the event has evolved far beyond a traditional fashion week. It soon became a platform where talks, exhibitions, mentoring programs and workshops were part of the experience. Other creative disciplines also found their place here, including photography, design, advertising and music.
Today, countless stakeholders from the textile and apparel industry come together, alongside model agencies, universities and specialized education institutions, technical centers and sector associations.
All united in an event that promotes a conscious voice and reinforces the value and qualification of its professionals, contributing to the international image of Lisbon and Portugal as a hub of talent, knowledge, innovation and future.

Walking the hills with Lisbon Fashion Week.
Reducing Lisbon Fashion Week to a fashion event alone would be limiting. Those who attend also take the opportunity to truly discover the city that hosts it.
The aesthetics, art and sophistication seen on the runway are mirrored in the architecture and landscapes that shape the capital’s ecosystem.
Lisbon is, as we know, a vibrant city, perfectly in tune with the atmosphere of fashion week. Filled with restaurants, art galleries, museums, boutiques and buildings with unique architecture, wandering up and down its hills and stopping at its viewpoints becomes a pleasure in itself.
