What is the minimum age to rent a vehicle from Guerin?

The minimum age to drive a Guerin vehicle is 21 years, with the exception of groups GA, G1A, LA, L1A, LE, HA, H1A, O1, O1A, SPA, SXA and ZA, for which a minimum age of 25 years is required.
Drivers under the age of 21 who have held a driving licence for more than 1 year may also drive a Guerin vehicle, subject to payment of a supplement known as the Young Driver Fee. This fee applies exclusively to the following groups: MI, C, CA, CE, E, EA, J, J1, JA, J1A, SM, SMA, SME, SC, SCA, SCE, FA, F1A, N, NA, 02, 02L, 03, 04, 04A, 05, 05A, 08, 09 and 09A.

Can the vehicle I rented from Guerin be driven by another person?

Can the vehicle I rented from Guerin be driven by another person?
Yes. Guerin allows other people to drive the vehicle, provided they are registered as additional drivers. For this purpose, the client must request the inclusion of an additional driver at the time of vehicle collection, which requires:

  • The physical presence of the additional driver;
  • Presentation of their identity document;
  • Presentation of their driving licence.
    This service has an additional cost of €9 per day, up to a maximum of €180 per rental contract.

My driving licence has been stolen. Can I present a theft declaration instead?

No. Guerin does not accept theft declarations in lieu of a driving licence. In order to collect the vehicle, the client must present the IMT (Institute of Mobility and Transport) form confirming the request for the issuance of a new driving licence.

Is a specific driving licence required to drive a Guerin commercial vehicle?

No. To drive a Guerin commercial vehicle, a standard car driving licence is sufficient; no additional specific licence is required.
